I have good and sad news. Good news I finally used my Birchbox points and purchased some pretty good things from the Birchbox Shop. The bad news is that I had about 40 points expire :( Once they expire there is no getting them back. 

For those of you who are not aware of what I am talking about re: Birchbox points, here's a little explanation. 
You can subscribe to Birchbox which is a monthly sample box subscription that is sent to you with makeup, perfume, skin care and more for only $10 per month (shipping included). It is like a little gift every month. Here are some previous months Birch boxes.

Moving on. After getting your box you can review every item in your box and get 10 points for each review. You only get points for reviewing items in your box not other items on the site. You can also get 50 points for every person you refer to Birchbox and gets a box. Every 100 points equals $10. Keep in mind points expire after 1 year. Yes I hoarded my points and they expired. When I got my 1st box I didn't know about the points and never reviewed anything. Lesson learned. 
I finally purchased from the Birchbox shop and this is what I got.

this is a fresh fruity scent, I love that this is in a roller ball for and the scent has no waste. You roll it on you and not the whole room.

Last was a filler so I wouldn't waste 60 birchbox points. The Clean Well All natural Hand sanitizing Wipes. 

My total without the wipes was $64 (640 birchbox points) that would mean I would use 700 points, so because of that I need to get something worth 60 points ($6) or I would just loose those points. I hope this makes sense.

BirchBox November 2012

This month's BirchBox theme is GIVE.  

They did do something a little different than all the previous months. Instead of the typical mini package wrapped in tissue paper this month we got a mini reusable box. It is quite cute to use as a stocking stuffer. I am going to search for what to put in my box to recycle it. 

Inside the BirchBox was:
1 Masqueology Revitalizing Eye Mask.  A full size would include 3 masks @ $24
these little pads you apply under your eyes to help reduce puffiness and brightening dark circle. You apply them and sit for 20 min. After that remove and massage the gel into under eye area. Ahh feeling is what you get after using it. There is a cooling sensation after about 5 minutes which is similar to the cooling effect whan putting minty lip balm on your lips, but for your under eye without a burning feeling. The patches are slimy and slippery. A really neat texture and feeling to say the least. I didn't notice a difference while looking at my eyes, but I could feel a difference and I REALLY ENJOYED using this item. I am sure I left it on longer than 20 minutes cause I was loving the feeling so much.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps - full size 1L @ $70
for use with very dry sin which is pretty good timing considering the change in the weather. Dry air is on it's way. To use apply after showering and rub especially to elbows heels knees, etc and let soak in before dressing. It has Beta-carotene and cocoa butter.
Sample size 1.0 oz approx $5

Stila all over shimmer liquid luminizer - set of 3 @$20
This sells as a set of 3 minis. Pink Shimmer, Rose Gold shimmer and bronze shimmer. The one in my box was the Bronze shimmer. This gives a really nice glow/shimmer. The brush applicator is very nice and since a little goes a long way this sample will last me quite a while. That makes me happy!

Next was from MCMC Phoenix fragrance full size 40ml is $95
This is a little fruity and a little musky in my opinion. It is nice, but it is not a scent I am usually drawn to. 

Lastly in the box were the extras also from Masqueology.  7D Moisture Day & Night cream and a Masque Cleanse. The smell was a bit strong and herbal. Like being in a salon or spa. 


 

Although the items in the box seemed minimal this month, when I was reviewing the contents I thought they were decent items. The Stila is a definite use item and well as the Kiehl's Creme de Corps. I always appreciate perfumes cause I love them =, but hate the high cost of them so this is a way to try many scents. The Masqueology eye patches are unusual and hey a pricy item in my book.  Just the 3 items (Kiehls, Stila and Masqueology) alone is approximately $19 alone. 

Yes I would have liked my box to be jam packed with stuff, but as I always say.....sometimes the box is filled with completely amazing items and sometimes it is just ok and other times it is eh. I personally enjoy getting my sample box monthly. It is a little gift to myself. I have seen Birchbox go thru ups and downs. It is the luck of the draw every month. I still would not give it up. $10 is not bad for sampling items I would have never otherwise tried for myself.

Knorr Ultimate Thanksgiving Cravebox

Ok yes Thanksgiving is over, but that doesn't mean I can't still talk about my Knorr Ultimate Thanksgiving Cravebox. I plan on using my Cravebox for Christmas. In my family we all go to my dads house for Thanksgiving and then everyone comes to my house for Christmas. I knew I was going to hold on to this for that occasion.

This Cravebox was FULL of item that we will use. I love when that happens. Sometime you get things that you will either giveaway or put in the cabinet or closet and forget about it. This one is an all me (or we) box. I am excited for my Christmas dinner to come so I can share with my family all the things in my box. 

I think I may use a recipe out of here. I saw some pretty amazing ones too. Time to readjust my menu

Biscuits who doesn't like these at any meal, especially the ones you can peel the layers apart. YUM! The recipe card had some neat sloppy joes, but you can get more ideas from their site http://www.pillsbury.com/Products/Biscuits

Nothing to say here. The can says it all.

At our dinners we go thru gravy like it's going out of style. Two packs was perfect! One for me and one for them ha ha. If you have no idea what and how to cook check out McCormick  you can learn something there. 

I think I am going to even use this in my massed potatoes like the recipe card shows, but I think I will concoct a meatloaf with this as an ingredient in it too.  For more info and ideas you can check out their website http://www.knorr.com/

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream

All I can say is Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control will last you a while. A little dab in your hand is all you need when applying to towel dried, damp hair. The 1st time I used it it was way too much. I put a big squeeze in my palm. I would normally use that amount when using a cream like product for my hair. The second time I used just a little and it worked pretty well. Be sure not to apply it to your roots, I can leave you looking a little oily. Using it the right way it is perfect! It does help de-frizz and smooth my hair.

I have a couple of the Not Your Mother's products I recently purchased to try out and this was a great addition. 

The smell is so appealing. Actually it's like going to the beach. It can seem like summer all year around. 
 You can find this at your local drug stores like CVS or Walmart or even ULTA (my favorite store).

Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit

These lashes are POW! In your face Lashes! 

Included in the kit are:

1. Adhesive glue (non latex)
2. Lashes 
3. Applicator

These lashes are made from Human hair and are latex free, odor free, waterproof and have and applicator that make application for someone like me easier to apply since I do not wear lashes often. You don't need to figure out how to hold them because the applicator not only holds it well, but lets you see where you are applying the lashes instead of hoping you are applying them on the right spot.
The band is pretty thick. I guess it has to be to hold all those lashes. If you are looking to have that sexy and dramatic look for a special occasion then you may like these. The lash holder and glue worked very well too. The glue included was not going to let these lashes fall off my eyelids. This was some pretty good glue. At least for me it kept the lashed on without lifting on the corners. I did have to trim the ends of my lashes to get them to fit my lids, but I would rather have to trim them than to be too short.

Travalo Review

Travalo Touch

I loved the Travalo Touch rollerball!
It is so easy to fill and use. It takes only seconds to fill it up with your favorite perfume/scent. As long as you can pop off the sprayer you can pop on your Travalo and pump it full of the scent of your choice. No need to take a nig bottle everywhere you go. The Travalo Touch is especially great if you need to reapply without bothering anyone around you. You can sometimes feel the need to reapply or freshen up and the mist will tend to bother others that are sensitive to mists. When you need to apply with the rollerball no one will even notice. The only thing they will notice is a scent that appears out of no where. I love love love this! The size is convenient and fits anywhere. It is less bulky and sliding it into your front pocket if you are wearing jeans it is nearly un-noticeable.

Here is what I purchased with my giftcard. I am having family over for Christmas and dinner. I always add to my collection every year and I think I just might have to go back and get a couple more pieces. 

We always have a special table setting and I plan on placing one of these cute ornaments on display on out table setting. I think one of them will be a great addition
