Beauty Box 5 Oct 2013

Moving into November I was able to use all of the products and give my final thought on it.

LaFresh Facial Cleansing wipes 8 ct - approx $3.33 - are a nice addition. I love almost every facial wipe I have tried. (Almost) These are no exception. Very nice, the only thing I can say is that I wish they were a bit thicker.

Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion - approx 0.87 cents - Aveeno is one of my favorite lotion brands. I love it and it had a thicker consistence, but at the same time does not linger on my skin. It keeps my hands hydrated and am glad to have an extra to keep in my bag.

Nubar nail polish in "Blondie" - $8 - This cute glitter polish is a nice added umph to my standard nail routine. It applies lightly and not overbearing.

ModelCo Lip&Cheek stain in "Rosy Red" 5ml - approx $12 - Well I have yet to try it on my lip and only because my lips and finger tips get a decent stain with this and I am afraid I will have a heavy hand and not blend quick enough on my face and have a nice red dot on my cheek. As for my lip I love the saying power and the scent is pleasing and yummy. you can see it is quite dark but it can be sheered out.

SwissCo Glitter Toe separators - $2 -  I have yet to use. I do not normally use toe separators when doing my nails. I just do not feel the need to use them They are quite girly and love the pink sparkle. After all what girl doesn't love pink and sparkles?! They are hypnotic to look at :)

Overall the box is quite nice and $10 is a decent price to pay.
Value of this October box is approx $26

TIP: If you subscribe for 3months at a time you will pay $10/month ($30) otherwise it will cost $12/month to do it on a month by month basis.

My November box is on it's way so be on the look out for that.

April / May Beauty Box 5

The title of your home page Your content is here. The verification ID will NOT be detected if you put it here.
Everyone can use oil blotting sheets. This is a must have for all. There is nothing bad to say. If you have never tried any sheets, then you do not know what you are missing.
Full size 50 sheets $1.99
Sample given Full Size
I have been loving the Brazen cosmetics loose eyeshadow. Last month was a darker shade and this very neutral tone is perfect to to all my shadow blending. I have been using both of them since I received this box in the mail. They belnd out so easily and stay on the hole day with my eyeshadow primer. Love love love.
Full size 0.18 oz $7.49
Sample no size on container

The Brush Hanger from Minxxette. This is a neat little device. If you like to wash your shadow brushes or any smaller brush frequently and need to hang it up to dry this will do the trick for you. stick it right on your mirror and insert your brush from the bottom up and let dry over night. This is good cause I have one particular brush I use more than any other and it is the only fluffy eyebrush I own. I can wash it and it be ready for the next day. I tend to not wash it that often cause I never had anywhere to hang it and had to lay it on a towel. Since I won't have to worry about water getting in it any longer I will wash it more often. The other neat thing I found on their web site is that you can tuck a wash cloth in and hang it from the brush hanger too :). Brilliant
sm $4.69

From Model Co. ILLUSION Lip enhancement kit is a perfect nude liner to match my lips and keeps my lippies right where they need to be; on my lips. I like to color my entire lip with this to help my color last longer throughout the day. It has a bonus if the sharpener included in the cap. No more hunting for a sharpener.
Full size (one size) $20
I have yet to try out these LA FRESH body smoothing wipes, but I am planning to bring them with me in my vacation come very soon. I wanted to wait to use them at that time.
18 pack $9.99

On to the May Box!

LA FRESH Antiperspirant wipes. I am waiting to use these to bring with me on vacation too.  When being out all day in the hot sun sometime we need to refresh and this is a great and space saving way to keep a refresher at hand. These are nice and handy. I am hoping the scent will be pleasing.
48 packs $19.90
2 approx $0.82

Jean Pierre Tanning Towelette - I am a little scared to use these wipes on my legs since my last experience was not too good. It left me all streaky and well it was a bit embarrassing to have beautifully streaked legs to show off. They didn't wear off so easily either. I do not want to have this happen to me before traveling and have the mistake of experimenting with tanning wipes when I know I will be wearing shorts every day. Unlike the other wipes I am going to wait to use these when I return.
10 Towelettes $8.99
2 approx $1.80
This is quite amazing! I love this spray just as much as I loved the Conditioner. It leaves my hair less frizzy and obviously smoother if it is less frizzy. I love that I can use a very cool flat iron with this and the smell is amazing too. Want your hair to calm down then spray it with the Coolway. I love everything about this.
6.7fl oz $24.95
sample 3.3 fl oz approx $12
Model Co Black eyeliner

Ferro 15 hour mineral Eyeshadow in Vegas Coral
This is right up my alley. I love these shimmery pinks and neutral colors. This is my go to color that I prefer on a daily basis. It goes on easily and stays on all day. Excellent
0.14 oz $17

Beauty Box 5 Feb

Yes I have once again re-joined the BB5 team. My last box was April of 2012.
Beauty Box 5 is  monthly subscription program like many other subscription services.
You can join BB5 for $12/month HERE. This is a referral link and would really welcome and appreciate if you join, to join via the link provided. Thank you if you do.

This was Beauty Box five's 1 year Birthday! (actually their 1st box went out in Feb 2012) but I guess this is the Celebration of 1 year for them.
I was glad to return on a great month.

First thing was a pretty neat item. It is the Coolway Boost 1 oz $4.99.
It helps lock in moisture and help maintain the straightened look right from your shower. A good thing for me since I just ditched my flat iron for burning the ends of my hair so something to help straighten my hair a bit more and have less wildness.
Full size for an 8oz is $39.95

 H2O Bath Aquatics shampoo 1.25oz
This is familiar since I have seen this when I have gone on vacation in some Hotels.  It does a great job and is not stripping to your hair.  The full size 8.5 fl oz is $14
iTRAIN gift card for $50. We just recently replaced our old treadmill with a new one and this one does not have the iTRAIN in it, but I checked out the site and there are a TON of programs and routines you can download for exercise to watch or listen to.
Brush Guard Variety Pack 4 pack $5.50 this is a 3 pack that we received. Not only is it great to keep your brushes perfect when you travel which I had a problem with this summer. They were all in one bag and the bristles did get a little rough. It is awesome for after drying to keep it's shape AND you can store them brush side down so the water will not drain into the brush handle! AWESOME!!!
This is such a great addition to my makeup collection.
This is the Birthday gift for we Subscribers, a cute little compact brush with a mirror. Nice to have if you are in a pinch.

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub 5.5 oz
Smell is heavenly! This body scrub has just enough "scrub" in it. I have learned from experience not to leave it in the hot shower. If you are like me and like to take steaming HOT showers it eventually causes the sugar to melt and there is less sugar "scrub" in the container. Then it just becomes a melted & liquified  rub. I love this. Full size 18 oz is $7.49
If you are interested see the link at the beginning of the post. ENJOY!!!

BeautyBox5 April 2012

This month for our BB5 we received 5 samples. (4samples and 1 refill) you'll see down below.

Beauty Box 5 is  monthly subscription program like many other subscription services. You can join BB5 for $12/month HERE. This is a referral link and would really welcome and appreciate if you join, to join via the link provided. Thank you if you do.
The 1st item in the box and in my opinion the best item in the box was from Makeupgeek.com it is an eyeshadow refill in Mango Tango. This is really a great color. This is a color that is being brought out all over the place for this spring. In person the color is vibrant and orange/tangerine/coral like in color. In the picture it comes off a bit more pink. The cost for this refill is $5.99 on the makeupgeek website.

$3.60 ??
$1.25
<50 cents

Other items Included:
1 Pur-lisse sample of daily moisturizer
1 makeup wipe remover
1 sunscreen wipe spf 30
1 Freeman Exfoliating face scrub

My thoughts on this month's box is that is was nothing too impressive. I do understand the purpose of these boxes are to introduce buyer like me to new products that we may not purchase on our own. Or something we may have never heard of. I am glad I have learned of many new things from these subscription boxes. The only thing is that this box is $12 vs the typical $10 so I would expect better things in the box compared to others. Last month I really liked the box. There were a few full sized products that I am still using and will be continuing to use for some time after this post. This month I will be out of the majority of the items after a single use. For that reason alone is why I am not pleased with the box. I hope next month it will make up for this month. We will see what happens, until then Chow chow for now!!

Beauty Box 5 & BirchBox review

This is a review of some items from a couple of beauty boxes that I subscribe too, Beauty Box 5 and Birch Box.
When I received my Beauty Box 5 (BB5) I was undecided since I wasn't sure about the products and how I would like them.

Smith's Rosebud Salve
When I first saw the preview of this item, I thought really a lip balm? I was thinking oh no. I can saw that oh no turned into an “oh yes”! This is not just a lip balm. Yes it is the BEST lip balm I have ever used. A little dab an you lips and it is so good.  Leaves your lips shiny and so soft and moisturized.
This is a 10 out of 10!!
COST: Full size 0.8oz $7.00
CONS: None

PRITI NYC
Soy Nail Polish Remover 100% biodegradable
Again with this product I kind of felt the same way. A nail polish remover? how wonderful could a nail polish remover be? It's just a polish remover.... NOPE! It definitely is not just that. I was extremely surprised. Derived from farm crops and lemongrass oil. This is fantastic for you organic nature lovers.

The wipe was a bit larger than my hand. IT has an oily consistency. I didn't think it was thick enough initially, but it worked perfectly! A couple of swipes per finger and it was clean, moisturized and not dry. Even after washing your hands you cuticles and nails do not feel brittle. Try this before washing your hands, just rub this all over your hands and they feel the softest you could ever remember. This feels multi purpose after using it. It did not remove glitter polish at all. In general glitter polish is tricky to remove anyway. I usually have to go thru a strange routine to remove glitter.
Over all the PRITI NYC polish remover is a 9 out of a 10. I gave it a 9 only because of  the glitter thing. I would highly reccommend this to anyone needing a quick and convienient way to remove non-glitter nail polish.
COST: Full size 10 pads $10.00
CONS:
  1. You must wash your hands after using it due to the oily residue after use.  So be sure not to use it in the car and don't plan on using to phone or anything when removing it or everything you touch with be oily too.
  2. Does not remove glitter polish

WELEDA Day and Night
moisturizing Cream
The consistency is average, but it has an incredible lasting power. After using the night cream my face in the morning after washing felt really amazing. It still felt like it was working even after the washing. I would have loved to continue to use it, but I am very sensitive to strong smells and this to me has a very strong scent. It reminds me of a salon or spa with an overbearing amount of smell. I think it is a 7 out of 10. Since I couldn't use it more than once due to the smell. I could tell that it is a great product for your skin and it didn't cause and irritation to my face. This is really great for dry skin.
Cost: Full size Day Cream 1.0 fl oz $20.00
Full Size Night Cream 1.0 fl oz $21.00

CONS:
  1. Strong smell
  2. can stay oily

On to an item from February Birch Box

 ColorScience Pro-Pressed mineral foundation
color I have is California Girl. It is for med warm toned skin.
It comes with a plastic coating to the puff side that is perforated and easy to separate and remove without damaging the puff itself.
I didn't see that this gave any true color to my face. The puff is very soft and feels like puff balls on your face. It was good to mattify my face, but don't see how this would be good for any coverage. You do have to pat it initially to release the powder into the puff. It says it is sheer and that it is. It is a great idea, but do not think it is worth the money. I do wonder if the full size in the compact works better though.
COST: Full size 0.42 oz = $50.00
CON:
  1. Expensive
  2. very sheer
