March Ipsy Bag

The Glam Rx Mini Freestyle Palette is pretty great. I think the size is fantastic and the magnetic closure is pretty strong and I don't think it will fail me anytime soon. I like that I can add whatever I want to it and I do not have to have a palette that is pre-made. The GlamRx from the site comes with a top layer that has a concealer, lip product and black eye liner for $16.50.

The next two items are eyeshadows from Yaby. The darker one is in Azealea petal and the lighter on is in seashell. The color payoff is pretty beautiful. The azealea petal is a lot darker than in the photo and I have been using it as the deeper shade in my crease. The only gripe I have is that they are really tiny. The good thing is that you can purchase yaby eyeshadow refills for about $3.29 each which is amazing. choose the colors you want for your GlamRx Palette.

juice Beauty Hydrating mist is something I am really loving. Normally Juice Beauty products have a very medicinal smell to them in my opinion. This for a change does not. It is refreshing but reminds me of Summer or the beach since it has a similar smell to skin so soft. Be very careful with the spray since it is pretty strong. It should be a misting spray, but it is a spray for sure! Hold it a good distance from you face. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Full size 6.75ml $22

La Fresh Travel Lite makeup Removing wipes. I did not open this yet since I have a large bag of another brand open at the moment, but as soon as they are done I plan on using these next. I have tried LaFresh in the past and have very much enjoyed their products. The nail polish removing pads are so so so good! One pad takes of almost all the polish for about all my nails. Two will do all my fingers and toes. That's impressive. I have high hopes for the wipes. These are a great deal at $1.49 for 8 wipes. Perfect for vacation one for every night with extras left.

MyGlam May 2012

This is my May MyGlam Bag
Theme is Love is in the Air
The bag is so cute. I think I will give it to someone that will enjoy it cause I have so many bags I really don't know what to do with them all.

  • 2 brushes. These are the last 2 in the collection  of eye brushes. I wonder if face brushes will be next. The larger one is a concealer brush and the smaller is a liner brush
Very soft. I have not found a use for it just yet because currently I and using an old angle brush as my liner brush. I know I will use the thin liner brush when I plan on using my gel liner, but I am not currently using gel liner in the pot. I like the look of a brown shadow on my lower lash line and use a liquid felt pen for my top liner.
This was a great idea especially for those who may not have had any brushes or a collection of different eye brushes. This was a great start for their makeup bag.

  • Miss Beauty Nail Bling. Style is silver "bling" and hearts. Initially I though how cute I would love to try this out. I really was looking forward to wearing them, but after looking at them I wonder how easy it will or will not be to apply correctly. It your nails are too short it may cut off the heart design. I will have to test this out and update this blog at a later date.
to apply just peel and stick. They are stickers and not nail polish strips. No need to use polish remover just peel them off.

  • Studio Gear lipstick in Burnished rose
$22.00  The package was very attractive in the matte case. It was not a rose color. It was a a little too orange for my taste. If you look at the picture you can see the lipstick was not set into the tube correctly either. It is angled towards the corner of the tube making it awkward to apply. This was weird. I also thought that the color selection did not have anything to do with the season. I almost think they were left overs. Although I like the fact they sent makeup I just wish is was the spring time colors.

  • Perfume sample Love sweet love
I really liked this scent. It was strong, but fresh fruity and floral but nothing over powering the other. It is a perfect mix.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog. If you would like to join Myglam click HERE it is only $10 per month and you can cancel at anytime. Enjoy!

Beauty Box 5 & BirchBox review

This is a review of some items from a couple of beauty boxes that I subscribe too, Beauty Box 5 and Birch Box.
When I received my Beauty Box 5 (BB5) I was undecided since I wasn't sure about the products and how I would like them.

Smith's Rosebud Salve
When I first saw the preview of this item, I thought really a lip balm? I was thinking oh no. I can saw that oh no turned into an “oh yes”! This is not just a lip balm. Yes it is the BEST lip balm I have ever used. A little dab an you lips and it is so good.  Leaves your lips shiny and so soft and moisturized.
This is a 10 out of 10!!
COST: Full size 0.8oz $7.00
CONS: None

PRITI NYC
Soy Nail Polish Remover 100% biodegradable
Again with this product I kind of felt the same way. A nail polish remover? how wonderful could a nail polish remover be? It's just a polish remover.... NOPE! It definitely is not just that. I was extremely surprised. Derived from farm crops and lemongrass oil. This is fantastic for you organic nature lovers.

The wipe was a bit larger than my hand. IT has an oily consistency. I didn't think it was thick enough initially, but it worked perfectly! A couple of swipes per finger and it was clean, moisturized and not dry. Even after washing your hands you cuticles and nails do not feel brittle. Try this before washing your hands, just rub this all over your hands and they feel the softest you could ever remember. This feels multi purpose after using it. It did not remove glitter polish at all. In general glitter polish is tricky to remove anyway. I usually have to go thru a strange routine to remove glitter.
Over all the PRITI NYC polish remover is a 9 out of a 10. I gave it a 9 only because of  the glitter thing. I would highly reccommend this to anyone needing a quick and convienient way to remove non-glitter nail polish.
COST: Full size 10 pads $10.00
CONS:
  1. You must wash your hands after using it due to the oily residue after use.  So be sure not to use it in the car and don't plan on using to phone or anything when removing it or everything you touch with be oily too.
  2. Does not remove glitter polish

WELEDA Day and Night
moisturizing Cream
The consistency is average, but it has an incredible lasting power. After using the night cream my face in the morning after washing felt really amazing. It still felt like it was working even after the washing. I would have loved to continue to use it, but I am very sensitive to strong smells and this to me has a very strong scent. It reminds me of a salon or spa with an overbearing amount of smell. I think it is a 7 out of 10. Since I couldn't use it more than once due to the smell. I could tell that it is a great product for your skin and it didn't cause and irritation to my face. This is really great for dry skin.
Cost: Full size Day Cream 1.0 fl oz $20.00
Full Size Night Cream 1.0 fl oz $21.00

CONS:
  1. Strong smell
  2. can stay oily

On to an item from February Birch Box

 ColorScience Pro-Pressed mineral foundation
color I have is California Girl. It is for med warm toned skin.
It comes with a plastic coating to the puff side that is perforated and easy to separate and remove without damaging the puff itself.
I didn't see that this gave any true color to my face. The puff is very soft and feels like puff balls on your face. It was good to mattify my face, but don't see how this would be good for any coverage. You do have to pat it initially to release the powder into the puff. It says it is sheer and that it is. It is a great idea, but do not think it is worth the money. I do wonder if the full size in the compact works better though.
COST: Full size 0.42 oz = $50.00
CON:
  1. Expensive
  2. very sheer

My Glam, GlamBag

I just got my glam bag in the mail today! I couldn't wait to rip right into the shiny pink bubble wrap envelope. I like the detail of the mailing packaging too!
So below are the photos of each Item

How cute is the bag too!
Thank you Michelle for all the little details!

From Mai Couture:
These are Blush in a rush blush papiers (sample). The color I received was SUNSET BLVD.
This is a pigmented paper with refined shimmer to give your cheeks color without a brush. Just take this sheet and rub it in to your cheeks. I am ready to try this first thing in the morning when I apply my makeup to see how well it applies and if it is easy to use. Will let you know and update this blog on what I think.

These Blush Papiers cost $17.50 for a whole pack of 50 sheets. I received 1 sample in my Glam Bag.

     Also from Mai Couture:
Blemish Control Blotting papiers (full size). It contains Salicylic Acid. They are in a very pretty Blue. I use blotting papers all the time and it is nice to have Blemish control blotting papers. This was a full size of 100 sheets.
Cost $20.00 for 100 sheets

From Tarte:

Lights, camera, lashes mascara (sample 3ml)
This says it is suppose to increase lash volume by 424%
If that is the case I intend to purchase this after using my sample size.
On the Tarte website they call it a "push-up bra" for your lashes. 4-in-1(lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning). I will be trying this out in the morning when I do my regular face routine also.
Full size 7oz $19.00
so the sample is a little less than half the size. Approx $9.00

From NYX:
Soft Matte Lip Cream (full size) in the color ISTANBUL
It says that it is not a lipstick or a gloss. It is a lipstick cream that goes on silky smooth but looks matte.
This color is great. I think the color can match just about any skin tone.

Cost $6.00

On the left is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ISTANBUL.
On the right is Urban Decay eyeshadow in SIN

From Urban Decay:

Eyeshadow in color SIN (full size 1.5gm). This is a beautiful champaign-like shimmery shadow. I have heard a lot of talk about this specific color shadow. This is so beautiful and cannot wait to use this one as well. Cost $17.00

Eyeshadow Primer Potion (sample 3.7ml) gives you a more "vibrant CREASE-FREE shadow for 24+ hrs". I have  heard a lot about this product as well, for the lasting power it has for your shadows. Looks like I will be trying this one too in the morning! So far It looks like I will be trying everything. The full size is 10ml and costs $18.00 but is on sale for $10.00 right now cause it looks like they are trying to get rid of all the old style containers, since they have a new "tube-like" packaging now. So I guess if you want a good deal you should rush over and get it for $10.00 The sample is approx. $3.+

Just like it was advertised: eveything you get you can use together to make a look. I will be checking out MyGlam.com to see what the stylist have done with this great GlamBag!
The approximate TOTaL for my Glam Bag was approx $55.00. So I think this was a great investment in a beauty subscription. I could NEVER go and get thee items for this price even if I begged or pleaded. Thank you Michelle for making my 1st Glam Bag so FANTASTIC and I cannot wait for the next one!

Check out my you tube video on these items too!

Chow chow for now!!
