I got this and wanted my dad to try this out. Here are his words:
Jumpstart 180
First let me tell you something
about myself. I am 67 years of age and somewhat over weight. I have had a right
rotator cuff repaired (surgery). I do have some issues with my left rotator
cuff. I can no longer do any pushups. I used to do 1 per second for 60 seconds.
I am sure my shoulder and ankle issues are from the over whelming hard work I
did during my 20 years in the USAF removing and re-installing jet engines in
the Phantom F4 fighter aircraft.
Jumpstart 180 is produced by Dr.
Siobhan France, Dr. of Physical Therapy and Wellness coach. She is committed to
helping many to reduce their pain, improve their strength and endurance to
their level of function before their injury and maximize their quality of life.
Jumpstart 180 consists of a pack
of 4 DVDs in a booklet style case. You will also get an easy to read 18 page
6" x 9" booklet with simple instructions and a chart to track your
progress. I would suggest to make a couple of copies of the chart because it is
suggested that you follow this Jumpstart program for 4 weeks. There is also a
section talking about your heart rate and where it should be during these
exercises. So far I had no heart rate issues. Ages displayed are 50 to 80 years
of age.
That being said, I believe DVD 1
of 4 will help both of my shoulders. The exercises can be done by most senior
citizens. Should you have any issues, you
do not have to follow the instructor exactly. There are many ways you can
modify these simple exercises (as instructed by the instructor Dr. Siobhan
France) so you can get the desired benefits from each exercise.
I briefly took a quick look at
DVD 2. It has all to do with bettering of your balance. I do have some issues
with my balance from time to time. I know what I briefly saw, will help me with
those issues.
Each DVD is approximately 30
minutes long. Longer if you need to pause it for any reason. The instructor suggests
that you pause the DVD if needed for any reason. I did not have to pause DVD 1
but everyone is different and after all Jumpstart 180 is for seniors from 50 to
80 years of age and we all have various issues and these DVDs are to help us
with those senior issues. Actually anyone with mobility issues can receive
benefits from Dr. Siobhan France Jumpstart 180 program.
