The first thing I did was untwist the cap and smell it. The scent is refreshing and I wanted to use it right away. So I have been using the palmolive fresh sponge dishwashing liquid for more than a week and you can see how much has been used below. So depending on who does the dishes makes a difference on if the sponge ends up smelling bad or not only because when my hubby does the dishes he never rinsed the food off the sponge and it does end up smelling, but even after I do the dishes after him with the smelly sponge when I rinse it well after the smell has gone away.
